Sports presenter Sybil Ruscoe went under starter's orders today when she launched her summer season at the first day of the York races.
The Radio Five star was broadcasting her programme, Ruscoe and Co, live from the event.
Miss Ruscoe teamed up with jockey turned commentator Willie Carson to take a behind the scenes look at the people and horses of the three-day May meeting.
They were hoping to back a winner when they studied a day in the life of Bawsian, a runner in the 2.35pm race which was watched from the early hours of this morning through his saddling up and into the race.
A racecourse spokesman said the course was good to soft on the back straight today.
