Fuelling Yorkshire's "feelgood factor", Moor Lane Construction, the York-based industrial building, civil engineering and design and build firm has just completed a £650,000 project to house Leeds graphic arts equipment makers Heights Design.
Steve Hargreaves, managing director of Moor Lane Construction, said: "It is a pleasure to complete a prestigious and large-scale project for a fellow thriving Yorkshire company.
"There is a real feelgood factor in the region at the moment with expanding companies contracting local firms because they know that they can expect quality workmanship. It's making Yorkshire a force to be reckoned with."
Heights Design originally asked Moor Lane to undertake a design and build package resulting in the creation of a new 20,000 sq ft manufacturing plant.
While the work was in progress it was decided to extend the project by refurbishing a 100-year-old textile mill to create a new administration headquarters for the expanding business of Heights Design which has a turnover of £12 million and designs and makes equipment for worldwide export.
The work consolidates its administration and manufacturing operations on to a single site.
The revamping of the mill meant maintaining distinctive cast iron pillars, concealing the roof drainage systems and converting an old lift shaft into an office for Heights Design's managing director Andrew Brian.
Moor Lane also provided a new access road for heavy goods vehicles and car parking facilities for the new building in which the new assembly line is situated.
