Evening Press tipster Tom O'Ryan hopes he is on a winner for the charity Scope.
He is staking a free £50 bet, courtesy of Ladbrokes bookmakers, on his Nap selection for Saturday's Martell Grand National - Rough Quest.
With the odds at 8-1 when he placed the bet he stands to land £400, plus his £50 stake, for Scope, the charity which helps sufferers of cerebral palsy, if Rough Quest, the 1996 Grand National winner triumphs again at Aintree on Saturday.
O'Ryan received the charity bet from Colin Humpleby, manager of the Ladbrokes shop in Piccadilly, York, which is staying open until 8pm tomorrow to help punters beat the rush to place their bets.
Ladbrokes are hoping that punters will also be attracted by their 49's numbers game, drawn twice a day, which is currently offering double winnings to punters.
To help boost Scope's hopes of more cash, Ladbrokes also donated a £1 bet on their 49's numbers game and O'Ryan selected 7, 11 and 30. If they come up on Saturday's tea-time draw Scope will benefit by £1,024.
Don't miss tomorrow's Evening Press for your Grand National guide, which will include colours, and in-depth information about the world's toughest steeplechase.
