Confidence not complacency was the cry from York Rugby League Club assistant coach John Paterson ahead of tonight's friendly at Doncaster Dragons.
The Wasps coaching team have named a 20-man squad for the fixture at Belle Vue and they plan to give new signings Mark Hewitt and Jon Aston a lengthy run out.
Mick Ramsden returns to the squad after a holiday and Leigh Deakin is back after recovering from a calf injury, but Alex Godfrey (shoulder) and Geoff Woodward (dead leg) have been ruled out through injury.
Paterson said the game represents the last chance to experiment with the side and run the rule of several players on one month loan agreements at the club.
"Confidence is sky high after the Leeds game but the message has been that that was last week. We have got to maintain that and take it into tonight. There will not be any complacency," he said.
"The players cannot afford to relax. They have got to keep the intensity they had last Friday. On April 10 against Bramley there are 17 shirts available.
"Mark Hewitt will get 40 minutes so we can look at him and Jon Aston starts. We have got to look at them before we start talking to Hull."
The Wasps defeated a disjointed Dragons side 46-12 at Huntington Stadium in a Silk Cut Challenge Cup warm-up game in January.
Doncaster player coach Colin Maskill is expected to give a debut to centre Dean Creasser, signed on loan from second division rivals Bramley.
Former Featherstone Rovers full-back Lee Senior, who was due to join York on loan until coach Stewart Horton was sacked in December 1996, starts for the Dragons and brother Kalum is on the bench.
