Strikers came to the fore for York City reserves in a 2-0 Pontin's League win over Blackpool.
Neil Tolson opened the scoring for City and figured for the entire game at Bootham Crescent last night, duty similarly emulated by Richard Cresswell, recovered now from the bug that ruled him out of last week's defeat by Fulham.
In a 4-3-3 formation the other forward berth was filled by Marco Gabbiadini and Gary Bull, each playing 45 minutes as all press their claims for Saturday's Nationwide League reprise against the Tangerines when Blackpool visit Bootham Crescent.
City's other goal was notched by winger Richard Alderson.
Meanwhile, ex-England striker Peter Beardsley, who watched Fulham's win over the Minstermen six days ago, today linked up again with Kevin Keegan joining the Cottagers on loan deal from Bolton Wanderers to the end of the season.
Of his latest addition to a squad already costing more than £8million Fulham's director of operations enthused: "I think it is great for the supporters and the club. He is 36, as fit as a fiddle and a tremendous inspiration to those around him."
