Just as everyone was wondering whether Supershare hat-trick winner Christine Tate, of Selby, was going to give anyone else a look in, shares soared and it was a case of our with the old guard and in with the new.
From nowhere came Graham Chapman, of Old Dykelands, Haxby, to claim the £50 first prize for having the highest value of the Top 100 of the day. He also came third in the Top Ten. "If I get enough first prizes I may even invest my winnings in real shares," said Graham whose spirits were lifted at a sad period in his life. His wife died in September.
But the notion that with a rise in the FTSE, one person could leapfrog thousands, suddenly gave new hope to nearly 6,000 of you who have so far pitched for the £2,000 first prize and £1,000 Framlington Fund second prize.
