CRIMINALS have a new adversary in York.
Geoff Dodd has been appointed the new Detective Inspector in the city, replacing Det Insp David Hunt, who has transferred to police headquarters at Newby Wiske.
Mr Dodd, 37, has served half his 14-year police service in York and has moved to CID from Acomb, where he was in charge of policing the city's busiest area.
He said he intended to continue the good work of detectives in the city; activity which he said had helped see crime fall consistently over the past three years.
Det Insp Dodd said: "Intelligence-led policing has provided great results and will continue to be the cornerstone of the work carried out by the whole of the York division - integrating the work of CID, uniformed officers and all the support services."
