A PROJECT management company has won six major contracts by subscribing to Business Link North Yorkshire's new Public Sector Contract Opportunities service.
Brentwood Project Management, part of the Brentwood Group, Harrogate, has successfully bid to project manage the six construction schemes after hearing about them through the Business Link service.
Under EC legislation, contracts of greater than a certain value must be publicised throughout Europe (hence Business Report's regular Eurolink column). The Business Link service searches the 400 to 600 tender notices published daily and automatically forwards relevant ones to subscribing businesses. The tender notices are published in the Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Communities, sometimes referred to as the European Journal.
Brentwood Project Management partner Rob Outhwaite says: "As subscribers we have provided Business Link with the precise criteria for those contacts we'd want and they search through all those available each day, passing the relevant ones to us."Using the information from Business Link we succeeded in winning those six projects."
They include a new £3.8 million radar systems and avionics centre for the Ministry of Defence in Cambridge which will be completed by next March.
Brentwood, formed 21 years ago, now has three partners and nearly 30 staff and is one of only four engineering practices in the UK to have gained Investors in People accreditation - probably the first of its kind in the north.
