While Herald were on cup duty, their lead at the top was trimmed by goals from former York City juniors Lee Medforth and Mike Murr.
Wigginton got back to winning ways with a 4-2 victory over New Earswick with goals from Paul Wilson (2), Jamie Seal and Simon Fisher. New Earswick's replies came from David Holmes and Paul Day.
Neil Richards hit four goals and Lenny Pearson three in Zafs Lions' 7-2 spanking of Locomotive, whose efforts came from Dave Spofforth and a Lol Davitt penalty.

Jubilee stayed in touch thanks to a 3-2 win at FC Magnets with goals from Karl Young (2) and Salkeld. Daz Ward scored both Magnets' goals.
Stone Trough severely dented British Telecom's promotion hopes with a 3-1 win. Carter, Jeffrey and Dunlop scored for Trough.
Severus SC, the third division leaders, beat Blacksmiths Arms 6-0. Mal Brown and Rich Brookes both hit two goals, backed up by efforts from Joe Depa and Dean James
A Kev Deighton goal gave Acomb WMC victory against Black Horse Tollerton, and Dunnington squandered a 2-1 lead at half time to lose 4-3 to York Hotel. Tony Snowden (2), Mike Smith and Mark Hutchinson scored for York Hotel. Grant Tolworthy (2) and Lee West netted for Dunnington.
Marcia closed in on division four leaders BH Colts, with a 2-0 victory over Cock & Bottle thanks to goals from David Allinson and Darren Miles while Colts were losing 4-2 at White Swan Reserves.
Bay Rovers were 1-0 down to Zafs Lions Reserves with 10 minutes left to play, but turned the game round with four quick goals from Neil Caddywell (2), Steve Old and Chris Evans.
Pocklington slipped up at Acomb Celtic in division five, losing 3-1. Neil Rankeilor (2) and John Bonarious scored for Celtic. Britannia stayed top as goals by Jackson and Davison gave them a 2-0 win at in-form Shepherds.
Stockton Forest scored a stunning 5-2 win over Bay Horse Rovers with Cussins, Borland, Kniveton, Devereux and Read all getting on the scoresheet.
Paul Denton (2), Chris Collier and Karl Smith scored as Hazlewood beat Juilee Reserves 4-0.
Despite their first defeat of the season Shape Shop still lead division six. They went down 2-1 to Middleton Celtic Reserves, whose Ian Dawson scored twice. Shape's effort was scored by Craig Harrage.
The win put Celtic into second place just ahead of Linton-on-Ouse, who beat Raskelf 6-2 with goals from Barry Gargett, and Kevin Mason and two each and one each from Lee Rice and Ian Quigley. Richard Barrett and Michael Raper netted for Raskelf.Fulford Road WMC lost ground by going down 2-1 to St Clement's WMC.
Boy and Barrel beat Walnut Tree 4-2. Mark Walker, Danny Lambton, Aiden Richardson and a Chris Cundall penalty were on the scoresheet for Barrel.
Portakabin beat Enterprise 9-0, and Skelton beat Golden Ball 4-0 with goals from Steve Thompson (2), Liam Holmes and Carl Palmer.
