GRAEME Murty will tomorrow notch his fifth different role for the Minstermen this term.
He has been detailed with tracking and shackling Watford danger-man Stuart Slater after efforts to secure a left-back on loan failed in time for the crunch clash.
With number two Andy McMillan fully fit to return against the Hornets Murty will switch flanks to fill a number three shirt, whose 'first-choice' trio of Wayne Hall, Paddy Atkinson and Gary Himsworth are all stricken with injury.
So far this term Murty has started on both wings, in central midfield and most regularly at right-back.
In spite of his spry-five Murty's best position remains as a winger and that's where City boss Alan Little would prefer him to play.
He has assured the winger that for all his versatility his career was not going to be one of mixing and matching and filling the gaps.
Insisted Little: "I see Slater as Watford's main threat, but I don't think there's a better player in the club to deal with him than Murty.
"However, I don't want him to be at left-back for much longer than is necessary. I am determined to get in a left-back on loan to free Murty as a winger, where his future lies."
