YORK winger James Black was among the try-scorers in the Yorkshire Under 17s 53-3 thumping of Leicestershire at Goole.
Once Beverley No 8 Rob Devonshire used his power to open the scoring with a fine solo try, Yorkshire's supremacy shone through.
Harrogate wing Anthony Small, Middlesbrough centre Simon Webster and his club-mate, flanker Matthew Holmes, all scored twice with Keighley full-back Daniel McGee completing the nine-try rout. McGee added a conversion and skipper Carl Minns kicked three goals.
The Colts expect a tougher test when they meet Northumberland at Wallsend in their first game in the Northern Division Championship on March 1 (2pm). It will be followed by another county title match against Durham at Bridlington the following Sunday.
Selby 2nds will travel to Ripon 2nds in the semi-final of the Staffcall North Yorkshire Trophy. Selby crushed Wetherby 55-3 in the second round. The other semi-final is between Northallerton and Wharfedale 4ths, who put out York RI, 10-5, in the second round.
York's youngsters take centre stage at Clifton Park on Sunday when they entertain Otley in the quarter-final of the Yorkshire Under 13 Cup.
York booked their place in the last eight with a 40-0 win over Thornesians and will be bidding to avenge the 34-17 second round defeat their Under 14s suffered at the hands of Otley.
Harrogate are among 21 clubs competing in this season's Yorkshire Under 19 Colts Cup, which gets underway on March 7 and 8.
The first round pairings are: Huddersfield v Old Crossleyans, Old Brodleians v Leeds, Keighley v Moortown, Bradford and Bingley v Sandal, Scarborough v Hull Ionians.
Second round, to be played on the weekend of March 15 and 16: Bridlington v Pontefract, Harrogate v Morley, Huddersfield or Old Crossleyans v Old Brodleians or Leeds, Acklam v Middlesbrough, Keighley or Moortown v Bradford and Bingley or Sandal, Otley v Beverley, Dinnington v Doncaster, Scarborough or Hull Ionians v West Park Bramhope.
