FREAK weather was making it the hottest-ever Valentine's Day in North Yorkshire today.
Temperatures were expected to soar back into the 60s today, warmer than many traditional hot-spots in the Med.
They touched 16C (61F) in the York area yesterday - warmer than Rome, Madrid and Los Angeles and equal to Corfu, Cyprus and Majorca.
A spokesman for Leeds Weather Centre said he would "not be at all surprised" if York had broken all records for February.
And there was more good news for people still looking to shake off those winter blues, with another very mild day expected tomorrow for people enjoying a day out.
After a bright start, cloud will increase but temperatures are still expected to touch a wintry warm of 15C (59F).
However, sun worshippers should make the most of the mini-heatwave.
After the weekend, forecasters are predicting a cooler period with a break-up of clouds.
"It won't be a cold snap," said the spokesman. "But it will be feeling cooler."
