Post Office took an early lead at Premier Division side St John's in the York Leeper Hare Football League Senior Cup and went on to win 3-1.
Keith Stamp netted from a corner after five minutes to give the visitors the advantage.
The Postmen increased their lead through a Mick O'Donnell strike before half-time.
The students rallied after the interval to pull one back when Andy Simms bagged an opportunist goal, but Stamp struck again to make sure of the semi-final place with a second well-taken goal.
General Accident, who knocked out Premier leaders Huntington in the last round, went into the semi-finals by beating visitors Kartiers 2-0 in a hard-fought game.
Mark Ellis finished off a three-man move to put the Insurancemen into the lead. With both sides playing an attacking game the defences were kept busy, and it was Kartiers who cracked again when Steve Arksey snapped up his chance to net a second for the home side.
The Selbymen mounted up a number of attacks in the closing stage but the home defence held out.
Home side Stamford Bridge gave their all against Premier side Dringhouses but went out 2-0.
But for a brilliant fingertip save in the first five minutes by 'Houses 'keeper Mick Conlon, the Bridge would have gone in front. But it was 'Houses who took the lead after 20 minutes when Nelly Bowgett broke through to score despite looking offside.
Two minutes later defender Mick Mole buried a powerful low volley from 20 yards for 'Houses second. After the change round, 'Houses had most of the play, but could not break through the hard working home defence again, and Bridge 'keeper Syd Porteous made several outstanding saves.
In the Junior Cup, Hamilton Panthers gardually got on top of Black Horse to win 4-2 with goals from Paul Clamp, Gary Atkinson, Joe Devinci, and Kev O'Leary. Neil Newton netted both consolations.
Home side Huby went ahead through Phil Higgins against York Sugar. But they could not hold the lead and Sugar came good through Danny Leach, Joe Deppa, and Matt Chipchase.
Two Phil Dawson strikes put Moor Lane in control at Poppleton, but the home side then came alive and hit back to win 3-2. Bammer Bainbridge, back out of retirement again, struck twice, the other coming from John Sutton.
A single scrambled goal from Alan Goodricks on 15 minutes was enough to take Barmby Moor through at Wilberfoss. A catalogue of missed chances and the woodwork restricted the visitors to the one goal and kept Wilberfoss in the hunt to the end.
Mick Piper called the tune with a brace and Steve Mitchell hit one as Strensall put out Rangers 3-1. Kev Shepherd notched the Rangers goal.
Dominic McHugh was the extra-time hero as White Horse won 1-0 at Riccall, while a Mick Tiplady hat-trick saw Thorpe topple South Bank 3-0.
Selby RSSC saw off Stillington 3-1 with goals from Lee Frost, Brian Able, and Dan Young, Trev Scott replying.
In the Reserve Cup, Mark Brennan hit the only goal as St John's edged out Dunnington.
New Earswick found themselves trailing to a Matt Busby strike for Copmanthorpe, but stormed back to net four times through Baz Gargett, Gavin Mears, Andy East, and a Tom Reid penalty.
Mick Jordan bagged a brace for Haxby at Rowntree, but he finished a loser as 'Trees turfed them out 4-2 thanks to Jamie O'Connell, Stuart Ogden, Joe Gaughan, and Rich Dalby.
Osbaldwick thumped Rufforth 6-0 with Mick Burnett and Steve Dagnell both netting two, and Mick Smith and Martin Harman also on target.
Huntington Rovers shaded Boroughbridge by the odd goal in five. Phorbes Bell put Bridge ahead, but Rovers hit back through Marcus Sutherland, Darren Ward, and Jack Wilson before Andy Hall brough Bridge back into contention again.
It was the same score as Old Malton went through at York Sugar. Glen Hinds shot Sugar ahead, Les Swift levelled, and then Hinds hit his second to restore Sugar's lead.
But Carl Sawdon struck twice to tip the scales in Old Malton's favour.
Geoff Fisher netted two and Dave Prime one as Bishopthorpe won 3-1 at Pocklington. Andy Morrill replied.
In league matches, Division One leaders Dunnington were given a scare at lowly Copmanthorpe before sneaking the points 2-1.
Cop lead through a Pete Devinche first half goal, but Paul Culkin levelled and Tony Snowden slotted a late winner.
Crayke lead then had to come from 3-2 down to overturn Rowntrees 5-3. Crayke marksmen were Tony Snowden with a hat-trick, and two from Tim Jackson, while Steve Blake (2) and andy Toon were on target for 'Trees.
In Division Two, Black-a-Moor put their promotion drive back on course by beating Hemingbrough 4-0. Amotherby made it three wins on the run as goals from Steve Postill and John Pillmore gave them a 2-0 win at Heworth.
Bishop Wilton have now gone eight games without a point after losing 2-0 at Haxby and Wigginton in Division Three. Andy Deaton with two, one a penalty, did the damage.
Hammerton hammered Melbourne 4-0 in Division Four for their fifth successive win. Stuart Ramsey, Lee Dweight, Tim Kitchen, and Ian Mitchell scored.
Norton kept up their promotion hopes with a 3-1 win ovber Heslington. Ben Walsh bagged two and Chris Mason one, Glen Milburn replying.
Jim McMurray netted four as Dringhouses rolled over Wigginton 6-2 in Reserve A, while Fulford enjoyed their first win in nine outings in Reserve B with a 3-0 success against Poppleton as Kin Hampshire popped in two penalties to add to a Gary Newbould strike.
In Reserve C, Wheldrake whipped Amotherby 5-1 with Paul Rank and Phil Rollinson bagging two each with one from Andy Fletcher, Brian Campbell grabbing the consolation.
But South Bank stay top thanks to a 3-0 win at Black Horse with Craig Fletcher, Daryl Strickland, and Jim Bickerdike on target.
