ROBBIE Williams is to perform in York for the first time since his Take That days.
The reformed hellraiser will appear at the Barbican Centre on Sunday, May 24 at 7.30pm, with tickets going on sale at 9am tomorrow at £11.50. Williams last toured the Barbican in November 1992 when Take That were rapidly becoming the most popular teen act since The Beatles. After drink and drug problems led to his departure and rehab treatment, Williams is riding high again with a string of his singles from his debut solo album Life Thru A Lens.
Nominated for Best British Male Solo Artist at the 1998 Brits Awards, he was one of the star turns at Monday's ceremony, singing a medley with Welsh legend Tom Jones.
Williams' tour will also include Hull City Hall on May 26.
To book tickets for the York show, ring the Barbican box office on 01904 656688. The Hull ticket number is 01482 226655.
