BOOTHAM Conservative Club 'A' have started the second half of the Focus Fireplaces York and District Table Tennis League season in great style going to the top of division one.They had a 10-0 win over Rowntree 'A' and followed that with a 9-1 win over University.Mick Wadsworth and Paul Eastwood were unbeaten in both matches for Bootham.York RI 'C' moved up a place after their 10-0 win over Rowntree 'A'.Brian Quinn was unbeaten for York RI 'B' in their 7-3 win over Bootham Conservative Club 'B'.York RI 'A' beat INL 'A' 6-4. Sarah Creasy played well for York RI and won two matches.Ian Stansfield won all three for Coneysthorpe 'A' but his side went down 6-4 to Fulford Road WMC 'C' with all the Fulford players winning two each.Coneysthorpe 'B' are well ahead in division two after beating challengers York RI 'D' 8-2. Glen Hodgson won all three for Coneysthorpe. Stuart Hodge did well for Railway to win two.Poppleton 'A' remain in second place after a 7-3 win over INL 'B'. All the Poppleton players won two each. Bottom team Sessions 'C' had two matches and lost them 7-3. Against South Bank SC 'B' they found George Morrison in top form and he won all three for South Bank. Against Rowntree 'B' Mike Surtees was the man who did the damage as he won all three for Rowntree.Maureen Gott won all three for Railway Associates as they managed a 5-5 draw with South Bank SC 'A'. Ian Williams' three wins helped Sessions 'B' to an 8-2 win over GA Life 'A'.Division Three leaders Bootham Conservative Club 'E' managed a 7-3 win over Coneysthorpe 'C' with Pete Mills winning all three for Bootham. Poppleton 'B' stay in second place after their 7-3 win over Fulford Rd WMC 'B'.Chris Armstrong won all three for Poppleton.British Telecom 'A' whitewashed York RI 'E' 10-0, while their 'B' team managed a 5-5 draw with Northern Electric. Barry Thomas was unbeaten for Telecom.Shepherds had a good win over Bootham Conservative Club 'D'. Gary Neads won all three for Shepherds, but the best result of the night was David Atkinson's win over Bill Hulme 21-14 22-24 21-14.Division four leaders South Bank SC 'B' lost for the first time when they went down 4-6 to INL 'C'. David Flaherty played well for South Bank but with all the INL team contributing they ran out worthy winners.York RI 'F' managed to beat York RI 'E' 6-4 with only two players. Terry's hammered GA Life 'B' 9-1 with Jim Logan and Alan Munnerly each winning three. Clive Warley was unbeaten for Fulford Road WMC 'C' in their 5-5 draw with their 'D' team.Poppleton 'D' won another match 10-0 with Fulford Road WMC 'E' the victims this time. INL 'D' had a good win over York RI 'H', John Orchard and Martin Symonds each winning three.Sessions 'D' had a 10-0 win over GA Life 'C' and then followed this with an 8-2 win over Smith and Nephew, Fred Watson and Gill Stapleton each winning three for Sessions.York RI 'J' beat Poppleton 'E' 9-1 with Sally Gledhill and Elaine Gears each winning three. York RI 'I' had a 10-0 win over the bottom team Fulford Road WMC.
