WITNESSES to a blaze which engulfed a rush hour bus in York city centre are being sought by accident investigators.
The fire broke out in the engine of a Rider York bus as it approached York Station at 6pm last Friday. Firefighters were swift to tackle the flames, but traffic was brought to a standstill with tailbacks stretching back along Blossom Street, Nunnery Lane and Tadcaster Road.
Now the bus firm's investigator Roy Tanner wants to interview four passengers, including a 14-year-old girl who was injured. Those involved should contact Mr Tanner on York 435604.
