Follow the Wolf at Catterick tomorrow. That's my advice as Mr Wolf, trained at Scorton by the in-form David Barker, goes for a hat-trick of wins.
The gelding runs in the 5th Regiment Royal Artillery Workshops Handicap, over six furlongs.
Barker, whose recent York winner Mecca's Mate scorched home at Ayr yesterday, has brought Mr Wolf back from a spell in the doldrums with wins at Ayr last Monday and in scintillating style at Pontefract last Friday night.
On both occasions Mr Wolf made all the running and Fergal Lynch, who takes the mount again tomorrow, is once more likely to try to lead from start to finish.
Rudi's Pet is fancied to score in the Dragon Troop Claiming Stakes. Although at the age of 11 obviously not the force he once was, Rudi's Pet showed he could still raise an effective gallop when winning at Musselburgh on his latest outing. David Nicholls's popular old-timer can follow-up.
Eton, another veteran trained by Nicholls, should go well in the Willie Carson - Pinker's Pond Apprentice Handicap. The nine-year-old won at Pontefract two outings ago.
Millfield can be another winner for Robert Winston in the Sanna's Post Nursery over seven furlongs.
Howard Johnson's juvenile finished third at York on his latest start, but had previously scored on this course. Tomorrow's step up in distance should suit him.
Frascati can end a frustrating losing spell by winning the £10,000 5th Regiment Royal Artillery Handicap.
The five-year-old has run several good races in defeat, most recently at Nottingham a fortnight ago when beaten less than a length into third place by Neverletme Go.
A reproduction of that form over this fast five furlongs will probably be sufficient to put Nap selection Frascati in line for success. Her trainer Alan Berry has had a couple of winners in the past week - his first successes since early in June.
Sandown's evening meeting offers Bluff the chance to return to the winners' circle.
The three-year-old, a Folkestone winner earlier this season, found the drop back to six furlongs an inadequate test of stamina on his latest outing at Ripon. The seven furlongs of the Lord McGowan Handicap should suit him better.
Mark Johnston has good prospects of landing the Panmure Gordon Corporate Finance Handicap with Marias Magic.
The Middleham trainer had four winners yesterday, two at Ayr in the afternoon and two at Beverley last night.
