Robert Winston, who started his title-chasing season with a bang by winning the Lincoln Handicap at Doncaster for Sir Michael Stoute, joins forces with the same trainer for the feature race on Town Moor tomorrow night.
The York-based jockey is on Lysandra, winner of two of her three races this term, in the £10,000 whiteobrown.com Fillies' Handicap over an extended ten furlongs.
Lightly-raced last year, in order to give her time to mature, Lysandra has repaid that patient policy.
She gained her latest success, at the end of June at Newbury, in gritty style when beating Miss Particular by a head.
Open to further improvement, she can score again for the partnership which took the 'Lincoln' on this track in March with Stream Of Gold.
Winston can also capture the Racing Here Again July 30th Handicap on Folga, trained in Lincolnshire by James Given, whose horses are in excellent form.
Folga has been runner-up in his last three races and is overdue a winning turn.
Also worth noting at Doncaster are Tim Easterby's promising Myths And Verses (6.30) and the speedy Ryedane (7.30), another Easterby horse and successful at Catterick last week. Ryedane gets my Nap vote.
The main afternoon action is at Sandown, where some potentially high-class juvenile fillies race in the £23,500 BT Challenge Star Stakes, a Listed event over seven furlongs.
Dizzy Dreamer commands plenty of respect. Trained by Peter Chapple-Hyam, she started odds-on favourite on her debut in a maiden race at Leicester last month and won in pleasing fashion.
Although she faces a much stiffer task tomorrow, Dizzy Dreamer has any amount of improvement in her, especially over this extra furlong. Alan Munro again takes the mount.
Quality Street should be difficult to beat in the Cox Insurance Handicap over five furlongs.
Pat Butler's three-year-old has had just two outings to date and has shown a good level of ability. Robert Winston takes the mount on Quality Street before travelling to Doncaster's evening fixture.
Bulwark can continue his successful summer by bagging the Ingrams Solicitors 60th Anniversary Memorial Handicap.
Amanda Perrett's three-year-old has won two of his last three starts, most recently at Yarmouth. He is clearly at the top of his form.
Eddie Ahern is leaving his job as stable jockey for Newmarket trainer Jeremy Noseda to become a freelance. Ahern left Gerard Butler to join Noseda last spring.
