DENNIS Gelderd (Boston Spa) topped a memorable week by scooping his second win in four days in the 45-peg Saturday open at the Willows fishery.
After winning the mid-week event from peg 44 on Goldrush he drew the same lake again and used the same homemade paste from peg 35 to devastating effect.
Offering his bait at 11 metres into open water, he bagged a steady stream of carp to 5lb for a 90-8-0 total that nearly doubled the weight of second-placed angler Dave Armitage, who had 52lb 10oz of carp on cat meat from peg 53.
Others: Gordon Fennell 47-4-0, Graham Skirrey 45-8-0, Mark Rockingham 41-8-0 and Graham Boardley 36-12-0.
Bishopthorpe and Acaster also enjoyed some good sport at the Willows on Sunday when Dave Taylor won with an impressive 63lb 2oz.
Dave Oliver was a close second with 61lb 11oz ahead of Derek Barker on 36lb and Mal Pearson with 32lb 8oz.
York-based garage owner Mick Addinall (Spectrum Autos) continues to be the man to beat at Carpvale.
He set a record for the front pond when he blitzed the 40-peg Nomads match with a staggering 148lb.
His ton-up haul was taken off the top, a method he has mastered to perfection at the Moor Monkton complex. Feeding floating pellets and offering a piece of banded bread on the surface with a floating pole he tempted carp to 5lb from around the islands on peg 66.
Darren Bell took second from peg 71 on the same lake. Again, the fish were up on the surface and he targeted them with dog biscuits to good effect.
At the whistle he put a hefty net of 127lb 2oz on the scales. The front pond dominated the rest of the frame with Derek Barker netting 104lb 6oz on cat meat from peg 62 and Terry Carlton taking fourth with 70lb 12oz from peg 58.
Top weight from the other two lakes was taken by Woodthorpe youngster Tom Hodson with 64lb 8oz from peg four on Cyprio.
Langwith Lakes have also been in brilliant form in the past few days with records tumbling again in a stunning contest on Kevin's Lake.
Roger Holmes set the new standard from peg two where he netted a massive 115lb 4oz of small carp on pole and pellet. The backing weights were pretty impressive too with Danny Bennett returning 95lb, Mick Mooney 92lb 8oz and Danny Scott 83lb.
