TOCKWITH duo Margaret Moss and Gill Clark saw the Anne Patrick Two-Wood Pairs trophy slip through their hands.
They led Pat Alderson and Norma Turner (Borough Park, Redcar) for 18 ends of the 21-end final at the Bert Keech Club, York, but lost by five shots.
The competition is sponsored by Shirley Patrick, whose mother, Anne, was president of the Yorkshire County Women's Bowling Association.
