THE proposal to move the Arclight Centre to outside our front door is unthinkable.
This is a highly populated area with lots of families and children who would not feel safe to leave their homes, not to mention not feeling safe inside them.
We are already subjected to burglaries in this area.
The footbridge leading from Bootham to the hospital and town would be an absolute no-go area because of the kind of people drifting through.
This would put us and other residents in a no-win situation of wanting to move away but not being able to because our property value will drop dramatically.
With present house prices I think the only solution would be to move away from York altogether which, having lived here all my life, would be devastating.
My partner and I are now trying to start a family but our future in Newborough Street seems very bleak now!
