FOR those of us who can be bothered to recycle plastics, there is only one point in York where there is a collection point and it is bottles only.
Last weekend I trudged down to Foss Islands with two bags of plastics only to find that both the bins were full. Bags and bags of plastic bottles had been left next to the bins because there was nowhere to put them and most people are not going to take them back home again, especially if they were, like me, walking on to a supermarket.
So all those bags of plastic bottles, of which there were dozens and dozens, have now been put into large rubbish bins and will be put into land fill sites. Recycling in York has a long way to go.
