I DIDN'T bother to read the entire report on the Local Transport Plan in the Evening Press (July 16).
It was obvious to anyone who had looked through the original, so-called, consultation document that the questions were worded in such a way that it could only produce the answers the council wanted.
So, what a surprise the questionnaires show that the people want more cycle tracks, more bus lanes and more Park & Ride sites.
Along with this you will get more congestion and more carbon monoxide. Then the council will, with the backing of everyone who filled in the questionnaire and answered the questions truthfully, bring in congestion charging.
Haven't we been paying congestion charges for years, in the form of road tax and fuel tax? I wish to ask Councillors Ann Reid and Steve Galloway a few questions.
In the last year, how many times have you either walked or cycled into town or to work or used Askham Bar Park & Ride or other buses?
