POCKLINGTON Under-15 team ended a fine York and District Junior Cricket Association season when they beat rivals York by five wickets to lift the League Championship.
That completed the league and cup double for Pock who had already beaten York in the final of the President's Cup.
York batted first in the championship final and made a good start with the openers putting on 65, Matt Wilks (50) and Luke Wilson (24) leading the way. The innings closed on 114-2.
Pocklington's reply started well but when they lost both openers for 35 the innings stalled.
It needed some fine running between the wickets and some lusty blows by the middle order - Phil Gray (26), Rich Devling (21) and Dan Croft (19) - to get the later batsmen in reach of the target.
As the York fielding faltered under pressure, Pocklington got home with seven balls to spare and so completed a season that saw them only lose one match.
Stamford Bridge took the honours in the final of the U15 Plate, with a 17-run victory over Heworth.
Bridge were 47-6 but Max Pimblett led a recovery with a cultured 50 that set a total of 100.
Heworth lost early wickets and fell to 46-8 to some superb bowling from left-armer Robyn Childe, who took 2-12 in five overs.
Ross White (24) and Will Outram saved the Heworth blushes, taking the score to 70, but it was not enough and the innings closed on 83.
The BYB U11 League play-offs will place York 'A' and York 'B' against each other, while Londesbrough Park will entertain Copmanthorpe for places in the final to be played at Heworth on Sunday, July 31 (10am).
