Speed will be at a premium in the Audi Stakes over five furlongs at Goodwood tomorrow.
Mecca's Mate is napped to take the honours on her way to bidding for a remarkable double on the Sussex course.
North Yorkshire trainer David Barker's plan is to run her tomorrow, then again in Saturday's Vodafone Stewards' Cup, for which she was yesterday cut from 14-1 to 12-1.
Mecca's Mate has never stopped improving this season, having been raised more than 40lb by the handicapper, and now she is chasing a hat-trick of wins after impressive victories at York and Ayr.
A filly who relishes some give in the ground, Mecca's Mate will have ideal conditions at rain-soaked Goodwood.
Although she is stepping up to Group 3 company for the first time, the turn of foot she showed to win a Listed race at Ayr last week confirms her to be a high class performer in the making.
Fergal Lynch, who gets on well with her, again takes the mount on the Scorton-based speedster, though John Egan has been booked to ride her on Saturday when Lynch cannot make the weight.
Norton trainer Brian Ellison can win the £100,000 ladbrokes.com Heritage Handicap with Ashkal Way.
A lightly raced horse, who is clearly improving fast, Ashkal Way got off the mark at Beverley last month and has since run a fine race to finish a close-up third in a hot handicap at Newmarket.
Sessay trainer David Nicholls, whose star juvenile Strike Up The Band won yesterday's Molecomb Stakes on the course, can follow up with Tax Free in the De Boer Handicap.
Winner of three of his four starts, Tax Free looked a horse to follow when winning at Newmarket earlier this month. Adrian Nichols, the trainer's son, again has the mount.
In the £100,000 Lady O Goodwood Cup, Distinction will not be short of supporters. Sir Michael Stoute's talented stayer found only the brilliant Westerner too good in the Ascot Gold Cup at York last month. There is nothing of that winner's calibre in tomorrow's field.
