MY name is Shane Kelleher, I am a student in the Department of Archaeology in York. For my MA dissertation I am researching the Blue Coat School at St Anthony's Hall in York.
I am particularly interested in how the building itself and the individual rooms were utilised and how they functioned.
The Blue Coat School opened in 1705 and closed in 1946. This year is its 300th anniversary.
As part of my studies I wish to compile oral accounts about life at the school. I should be grateful if readers who attended the school could contact me and arrange a meeting, or have any relevant memories of this important institution in York's social history.
Please write to the address below or, in the evenings, ring 07843938575.
