It's here! After nearly a ten-year wait, Willie Nelson's long lost reggae record has finally been released.
From an idea first conjured up in 1995, this album has been agonised over and finely tweaked until deemed ready to unleash on the country music community. This first reggae album from the great man merges the gospel and soul spirit found in reggae and country, bringing together a refreshing, soul-searching mixture of easy-listening music, as only Willie Nelson could get away with. Countryman is Willie's impassioned tribute to the upstroke sound of Jamaica, taking a handful of his own classics and filtering them though a reggae prism, adding acoustic guitar, pedal steel, dobro and harmonica, while bringing drums and bass to the fore. Worth the wait.
