Missy Elliott's new Adidas range screams "Respect me". But The Cookbook - her sixth album - does all the talking for her.
Bouncing in and out of the shoulder-twitching rhythm and moves is Missy's characteristic hard-line rap, with the typical blush-making moment. Really Missy, there are some things you so shouldn't say in the same phrase as 'Mommy'. In current single Lose Control, the undisputed queen of hip-hop lets Fatman Scoop dine at her table of mayhem with young protg Ciara punching into the mix to create a dancefloor filler, while Click Clack is another vibing classic to set the clubs alight. It's one of a string of "featuring..." numbers that turn The Cookbook into not so much an LP as a blinging guest list with Pharrell Williams, Mary J Blige and Slick Rick among the who's who. Respect is clearly due.
