MULLAAD, who is reckoned by trainer Tim Easterby to be a high class horse in the making, can prove the point at Goodwood tomorrow.
The two-year-old bids for the £70,000 Sterling Insurance Richmond Stakes and is my Nap selection to clinch this prestigious Group 2 race.
Mullaad has won at Newcastle and Chester, beating useful rivals both times over five furlongs.
The step up to six furlongs tomorrow, plus Goodwood's easy ground, should suit Mullaad, who will again be ridden by Dave Allan.
A total of six runners face the starter for this race tomorrow and I fancy Mullaad will have the measure of the other five.
Great Habton trainer Easterby can also win the Scottish Equitable/Jockeys' Association Nursery with Grandad Bill, another mount for stable jockey Allan.
A winner at Thirsk last time over tomorrow's distance of seven furlongs, Grandad Bill is open to further improvement in handicap company.
Newmarket trainer Mark Tompkins and his smart apprentice Saleem Golam, who had two winners at York last weekend, have good prospects of hitting the jackpot with Babodana in the £150,000 Totesport Mile Heritage Handicap.
The class act of the race, Babodana won last year's Lincoln Handicap at Doncaster off top weight and has since run some cracking races in defeat. Golam's 5lb allowance will come in handy in reducing Babodana's welter burden and should give the five-year-old a leading chance.
Lucky Spin, winner of two of her three races this term, can add to her tally by taking the Oak Tree Stakes.
Richard Hannon's useful filly gained her latest success on Knavesmire three weeks ago in the hands of Ryan Moore, who takes the mount again tomorrow.
At Thirsk, Summer Charm should not be overlooked in the Warwick Driers Fillies' Handicap.
The three-year-old, trained at Newmarket by William Jarvis, proved a model of consistency earlier this summer and now returns after a break to freshen her up. She is likely to be hard to beat.
Scorton trainer David Barker is enjoying a fine season and he can add to his tally with Mr Wolf in the Peter Bell Memorial Handicap.
Winner of his last three starts, Mr Wolf looks capable of defying a penalty in this six furlongs dash.
Brut in the Teletext Apprentice Maiden Handicap can be another winner for Barker, who yesterday at Goodwood scored with Sierra Vista. He was strongly represented at the Sussex course today by Mecca's Mate.
Friday's tips:
