I AM shocked to learn of the ridiculous proposal to move the Arc Light Centre from Leeman Road to the old Shipton Street School site.
I have lived here for seven years. This area is a quiet, peaceful and law-abiding community, comprising families with young children, young professional people and old people, many of whom have lived here all or most of their lives.
We do not want such a centre in our community. The children would no longer play out, old people would be frightened and crime would increase. Let the Arc Light Centre stay where it belongs - in a non-residential area. The Shipton Street School building should be used for the benefit, not to the detriment of, our community.
Mrs E Fletcher,
