MONDAY, Youssou N'Dour was in Mallorca, then Wednesday in Madrid, Thursday, Barcelona, tonight, Saint Feliu de Guixols.
Tomorrow (30th) he headlines the WOMAD Festival at Reading, and on Sunday the Senegalese singer plays his only other British date in his hurtling merry-go-round of summer shows, at the Harrogate International Centre.
His 8pm concert with the Super Etoile de Dakar is a centrepiece of the 40th Harrogate International Festival, along with Van Morrison's concert at the same location tonight.
N'Dour and his Afro-pop dance band will be performing his African blend of traditional Senegalese m'balax and the pop culture of Cuban samba, hip-hop, jazz and soul.
Last year, his music took on a change of pace on his Egypt album, on which N'Dour's quartet was joined by the 14-piece Fathy Salama Orchestra for melodic arrangements of Sufi music from the Arabic world. Now, on his latest tour, his focus returns to a broader palate of world music. Tickets are still available at £22, £17 or £13 on 01423 537230.
