HUNDREDS of residents are demanding speed cameras to tackle motorists who drive too fast along Hull Road (July 27).
I ask, what is the point of speed cameras, humps, traffic lights, or speed restriction signs, when there will be motorists who will ignore them and risk not being caught?
Reduce the speed in car engines. If manufacturers keep on making cars that will do 0 to 60 in seconds and speeds of up to 120mph or more, you will always have someone attempting to do it. Then they blame the condition of the road if there is an accident, not themselves.
Reduce the speed in the car. The journey may take longer, but it will be safer, not just for yourself, but for others too.
It's better to arrive at your destination late than not at all.
