York City Knights coach Mick Cook and his Dewsbury counterpart both reckon the extraordinary last meeting between the sides will have no bearing on tomorrow's clash of the titans.
The Knights hammered the previously undefeated Rams 74-12 at Huntington Stadium in April - a club record win - but the two clubs' runs of form since then have been similar and both Cook and Dewsbury boss Andy Kelly have dismissed that remarkable result as a one-off ahead of this weekend's rematch at Tetley's Stadium.
The Knights go into the game top of LHF National League Two with Dewsbury just a point behind in second, and Cook said: "We're not looking at what happened last time we met, we're not even thinking about that. Things have changed since then. They've had some big wins and not a lot of losses.
"We're not far apart at the moment looking at form. We're two reasonably evenly-matched sides.
"They were NL2 favourites and to get a 70-point thumping is not a nice thing to happen but they're strong enough to ride that and look at it as a one-off. Things like that can happen sometimes.
"They will want to put the record straight, saying they did not do themselves justice that day, and they're on their home ground this time.
"We know it will be tough, but they're all tough games. It's just about getting everything right on the day, making sure we do the right things and ask some questions of them as they will be asking plenty of questions of us."
Kelly said his side were not even taking revenge into consideration.
"We haven't really considered that result as something we need to make amends for," he explained.
"It's not been spoken of, we wanted to get rid of it. We can't put it right - it will be in the record books at the end of the season whatever happens.
"After that game we did not look at the result at all. We thought we hadn't done ourselves justice, we hadn't played, and it was so one-sided we felt it should have little part in our preparation for other games. Our season after that has been pretty productive so our feeling on the day that it was a one-off was well-founded."
He added: "The game was so long ago it can't have a bearing on this weekend and just to be looking for revenge would be a bit puerile on our part. This Sunday is a new entity and we've got to play well to come out with the points."
