NEW Olympic hopeful Richard Buck shows how the public can help clear the London 2012 funding hurdle under the watchful eye of two former medallists.
British athletics' past and future came face-to-face at Huntington Stadium, York, to mark the launch of the new National Lottery Go For Gold scratchcards.
Former Selby resident John Sherwood - who won bronze in the 400m hurdles in the 1968 Games - and wife Sheila, who won a long jump silver in the same year, joined forces with Nestl Rowntree Athletics Club's young 400m sprinter Buck to unveil the £1-a-time card.
It is the first of a series of Lottery games to be unveiled in the coming years to generate £750million towards the estimated £3 billion needed to stage the 30th Olympiad.
