RELEASED Doncaster Rovers right-back Jamie Price will be given another chance to impress for York City against Sheffield Wednesday at KitKat Crescent (Monday, 7.30pm ko).
Price caught the eye in Saturday's 4-1 victory at Northern Counties East League outfit Sheffield FC and Billy McEwan substituted him at half-time keen to test him against the Owls.
The 23-year-old defender made 13 appearances for League One outfit Doncaster last season, having started out at Rochdale as a junior before serving his apprenticeship at Leeds United.
Price also has Conference experience on loan at Burton Albion and Halifax Town.
City ran out comfortable winners at Sheffield thanks to goals from Dave Pounder (2), Clayton Donaldson and Ryan Mallon.
Former Scarborough schemer Pounder and Halifax man Mallon are also on trial and McEwan could choose to take another look at them tonight, saying: "They both did all right but it will be a little bit different when we play a better team."
Trialist striker Danny Ekoku is expected to be back in tonight's squad but ex-Leeds United defender Henry McStay has decided try his luck in home country Ireland.
Fellow trialists James Dudgeon and ex-Azerbaijan Under-21 goalkeeper Farhad Afandiyev are also available, though defender Dudgeon has a hamstring injury.
Wednesday have promised to bring a mixture of first-team players and squad members for tonight's KitKat Crescent clash despite drawing 1-1 in a friendly against Manchester City yesterday.
