LORD'S is once again beckoning for Sheriff Hutton Bridge in the National Village Knockout Cup - if they can go one step better than last year's semi-final exit.
Teenage bowler Danny Snowball swept through the order at North Yorkshire and South Durham premier league division one Wolviston with a 6-16 tornado to book the Hunters York and District League premier division side a place in the semi-final after a 34-run win.
Awaiting them there is yet another away draw - the seventh of the eight games of their competition run so far - and twice Lord's finalists Astwood Bank near Redditch in Worcestershire.
Wolviston won the toss and inserted Sheriff Hutton Bridge into a soggy wicket.
The opening partnership of Paul Oldfield (24) and Ian Clish (31) set the pace for the visitors before an unbroken sixth-wicket stand between skipper Paul Scaling (40no) and 16-year-old wicket-keeper Adam Fisher (21no) stretched them to a respectable 150-5 total.
Bermudan batsman John Woolnough flew in from the Caribbean just for the quarter-final clash and made his presence felt until he fell two runs short of his half century to an Oldfield catch.
The hosts struggled to 97-4 when youngster Snowball found his stride with devastating effect. What followed was a five-over annihilation in exchange for just 19 runs as Snowball, who has missed much of the season because of university commitments, seared through the tail end with five wickets in 14 balls including three clean bowled.
The spectacular effort stopped the run chase four and a half overs early to snare a second successive semi-final place on August 14 with Lord's awaiting the winner on Bank Holiday Sunday, August 28.
