pension fund investors are scrambling for spaces in four small offices being built on part of the former RR Donnelly site at Ouse Acres off Boroughbridge Road, York.
The project, known as Isis, is being developed by ASP Venture Partnership led by the Helmsley Group, of Pocklington. It is to be completed in September.
But with six weeks to go, Richard Flanagan, partner at commercial property agents Laurence Hannah and Skelton of York, which represents the partnership, reports that one of the offices is already under offer. He anticipates that within the next few days deals will be offered on a further two "and there is strong interest in the remaining unit".
He said: "At the moment all the ones showing super interest are those using SIPP (Self-Invested Pension Plans) ducking under the wire of new financial rules which come into play on April 6."
Also experiencing the same SIPP rush is Horizon Court, eight new offices at Clifton Moor developed by Evans property group of Leeds.
"It is now completed and there have been a number of viewings by the owners of small pension funds," said Mr Flanagan.
