I WAS appalled at the articles referring to Keith Drinkel. What possible business can his private life be to anyone else?
Keith is a loving son who visits and supports his mum, especially since the death of his father. Had he been guilty of murder, theft or some other heinous crime, I would consider this as being of public interest and worth reporting.
This, however, was insensitivity and prurience of a completely unacceptable nature.

:: Too scandalous
SO the Evening Press thought it should make sure Keith Drinkel's elderly mother would know what the Sunday tabloids were saying about her son by making sure it would be reported to her through your columns.
She would not have seen the scandal-rich tabloid, so why not pass it on under the guise of sympathy for Keith's anxiety that his mother would find out?
How could she "find out" except through you?

Editor's note:
Keith Drinkel spoke openly to the Evening Press in the wake of extensive Sunday newspaper coverage, and was totally happy for his comments to be reported.
He knew his mother would be aware of the story carried in The People but wondered what her reaction would be.
Keith said he had never tried to hide his role in a gay porn film and had freely talked about it "with a great amount of pride". This undoubtedly meant the details were already in the public domain.
