Dunnington duo Jim Robinson and Keith Walker will be bidding to win the Eric Gill Pairs at the Yorkshire County Bowls Association District No 5 Flat Green Bowls League finals day at Malton on Saturday.
They face holders Ken Richardson and Geoff Marshall (Filey), while the Tetley Triples, which Robinson and Walker won with Graham Instone last year, features their Dunnington club colleagues Martin Irving, Martin Tomlinson and Barry Hanson against David Pryor, Les Atkinson and Steve Jarvis (Snainton).
Both matches start at 2.30pm.
Langtoft's game in hand over Stamford Bridge looks like being the deciding factor in the two-horse race for the District No 5 Triples Flat Green Bowls League title.
Both won their latest round of games with Langtoft seeing off third-placed Seamer.
With just a handful of games to play, it seems that Middleton and South Cliff will be promoted to division one next season. South Cliff would be making a quick return following relegation last year while Middleton would be playing in the top division for the first time.
Eleven teams have entered the Betty Stubbings Cup competition which is being held at Seamer on Saturday, August 20 (1pm start). If any club wishes to enter a team of four players contact Peter Lees (01723 865896). Each team will play four games.
RI Amateurs took a big step towards winning a famous treble when they won the York Amateur Bowling Association Williamson Cup by a comfortable 27 shots over Holgate at Shipton.
A 15-point lead at the top makes them favourites for the division one title and a win over Nafferton on Saturday in the Marshal Shield will put them in the semi-finals of the county club championship.
Stamford Bridge and Heworth Conervatives look set for promotion from division two with Heworth, who have two games in hand, favourites for the title.
Harrogate will have to make full use of their outstanding matches to catch Poppleton Road WMC and avoid relegation.
Joint division three leaders Dunnington 'B' and Holgate WMC will meet in their next match which will decide the title.
Top bowlers from the north of England will be contesting the Northern Counties Finals at York Railway Institute green this weekend.
