RICHARD Hughes, who rode three winners at Haydock yesterday, can keep up the momentum on the same course tomorrow by landing the feature race.
Hughes teams up with Notable Guest in the £65,000 Petros Rose Of Lancaster Stakes and Sir Michael Stoute's colt is fancied to resume winning ways.
Successful in his first two races this season, most notably at Royal Ascot at York in June, Notable Guest was unable to overcome his wide draw in the John Smith's Cup back on Knavesmire last month. A high-class performer, he is selected to beat his four rivals.
The first three races at Haydock are being televised on BBC1 and Kieren Fallon has good prospects in the other two - aboard the tough and consistent Texas Gold in the coral.co.uk Handicap and on Couragous Duke, who looks to be running into form after a light campaign so far.
Windsor will form part of a double-header for BBC1, with a further three races on the box, and Crete deserves attention in the opening Intercasino.com Handicap.
The William Haggas-trained three-year-old is progressing nicely this season and he lost no marks in defeat at Ripon last time in a race, run at a dawdling gallop and on a course which may not have suited this long-striding individual.
Ace of Hearts, a stalwart of Chris Wall's Newmarket yard, should not be far away in the Win At Intercasino.com Handicap, while the hat-trick seeking Gimasha can oblige again by landing the wide-open Intercasino.co.uk Handicap over six furlongs.
Malton jockey Paul Hanagan, who suffered a broken right collarbone in a fall at Pontefract races on Wednesday, is likely to be sidelined for about a month his agent Richard Hale has said. He is due to visit a medical specialist on Monday.
