Poppleton'S first Tyke Petroleum Men's Tennis League division one title triumph since 2001 was sealed with an easy win against bottom team Sutton.
Of their 71 games, 35 were won by John Moore and Michael Binns - the highest score of the season.
Relegated Boston Spa lost 74-34 to Wigginton, who only fielded two pairs. Stu Conacher and Ian Tooms, a fairly rare combination, notched 30 games and Phil Langley and Ed Barker-Wyatt 26.
Bubwith nudged Copmanthorpe out of a promotion place in division two with a 76-32 win against a weakened Civil Service. Doug Smith and Sean Pinchbeck (30) and Mark Harris and Fran Milivejovic (28) led the way.
Wigginton II's 59-49 win against Cawood kept them top of division three. James Walker and Ken Storey were unbeaten with 24 games while Eddie Burton and Derek Andrews hit back with 22.
Promotion in the division is a four-way battle between Wigginton II, Cawood, Castlegarth and Knaresborough.
Copmanthorpe II lost 59-59 to Sutton II in their final match in division four despite Ron Machen and Mark Blackburn's 22 games, one better than Sutton's Rick and Chris Lockman.
Knaresborough II again turned out a couple short in division five, giving unbeaten Fulford an advantage they did not need in an 84-24 victory.
Sheriff Hutton recorded a 63-45 win against bottom team Dunnington III. Chris Burnham and Kevin Fairclough provided the backbone for Sheriff with 27 games. Rob Rhodes and Dave Carver scored a commendable unbeaten 20 for Dunnington.
Poppleton III still have five matches to play in their bid to get out of the bottom two but were unconvincing in their 75-33 defeat at York II, whose David Linsley and Mike Gray scored 27.
Stamford Bridge remain top in division six after beating second-placed Pocklington 65-43. All three of their couples scored over 20, Anthony Downing and Anthony Britton leading with 24.
Bottom club Strensall II made Heworth work hard for a 59-49 win which was helped by 22 from Loch Trimingham and Ron Barnett.
Twenty-eight games from veterans Rex Pocklington and Terry Knowles gave Escrick a 66-42 win over Wigginton and top spot in division seven.
