A NEW restaurant in west York has pledged to support the Evening Press campaign to stamp out smoking in the workplace.
Italian eatery Russo's Restaurant, in Acomb Court, opened its doors last week and immediately imposed a complete ban.
Owner Antony Russo, 24, who runs it with his wife, Rachael, said he was inspired to join our YES To Clean Air campaign because his mother is a nurse.
Restaurant staff dressed as characters from Peter Pan for the opening and handed out free pizza to shoppers. More than £250 was also raised for the British Heart Foundation.
"We're dead set against smoking in our restaurant," Mr Russo said.
"The opening went really well and everyone enjoyed the free pizza.
"My granddad had a lot of heart problems so the foundation is very important to us."
