INTREPID hikers from York-based Trident Communications and client organisations Corus Engineering Steels and Bradford College took on Yorkshire's three highest peaks - and raised nearly £1,800 for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
That is enough to fund four lifesaving missions for the Air Ambulance.
The Three Peaks Challenge, organised by Trident, the employee communications specialist based on Clifton Moor, saw five walkers battling against ever-changing weather conditions and knee-high mud to complete a gruelling 24-mile trek.
As part of the same event, a separate team of seven climbed up one of the peaks, Pen-Y-Ghent, and other Trident colleagues provided invaluable support throughout the day.
The company's account manager Paul Brook, who organised the event, said: "Walking the Three Peaks was a personal ambition, but also offered us an excellent opportunity to get together with our Yorkshire-based clients and support the crucial work of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
"Our thanks go to everyone who took part, and our sponsors, including our clients at Yorkshire Water, who donated water bottles and drinking water."
