YORK rugby league legend Richie Hayes has taken over the reins of amateur club New Earswick All Blacks' Under-15s side.
Hayes, a veteran of more than 400 professional matches with the likes of York, Hull KR and Hunslet, hung up his pro boots at the beginning of last season due to an ongoing injury. He later turned out for All Blacks' first team but is now concentrating on coaching.
He joined the All Blacks' junior set-up last season and has now become head coach of the U15s.
His side are always on the lookout for new players and anyone interested can go down to training at New Earswick Sports Centre on Mondays and Fridays at 6.30pm or call the sports club on 01904 750103.
