I AM concerned about the proposal to move the Arc Light Centre to the old Shipton Street School site. If this proposal is accepted I, like many other residents, fear my quality of life and the value of my property will be seriously affected.
I have lived in Ratcliffe Street for eight years. The area has already suffered from the behaviour of drug addicts, drunkards and violence.
Recent building developments, such as on Grosvenor Terrace and Burton Stone Lane, have greatly improved the area and quality of life for its residents.
However, the proposal to situate a hostel/drop-in centre in the area will nullify developments that have already taken place and which have been long awaited.
I strongly oppose the proposal to move the Arc Light Centre to Shipton Street School.
Robert Priestley,
Ratcliffe Street, York.
