Sandra Bruce included a maximum for 19 to lead Independent to a 7-2 win at Holgate.
Wenlock's Dawn Exton hit the big scores but her team were prevented from a full house by Slip 'A's Helen Lomas.
Leeman 'B' put in a good all-round team performance to overwhelm Clifton 'B' 6-3.
Division two leaders Cygnet 'B' were 6-3 victors at Jubilee and Slipper went second after beating rivals Woolpack by the same score.
Barbara Ward-Mavis Rawcliffe combined to win Tang Hall WMC's decider against Sun 'B'. Maggie Beddingham-Denise Fowler were successful in the decider for Shepherd 'A' at Burnholme.
In division three, Britannia recovered from a 3-1 deficit at Cygnet 'D' to win 6-3. Jan Netherwood and Amanda Bevan hit the tons as Volunteer 'A' beat visitors Poacher 7-2.
Leeman 'D's mother and daughter pairing Chris and Julie Judson saved them from a whitewash against Cueball 'A'.
PAUL Bartnett hit three 140s plus an 81 bull finish to game in a terrific 12 darts for Locomotive 'B' in York Phoenix Monday Darts League division two encounter with Blacksmith's Arms.
Locomotive ran out 7-2 winners with Kelvyn Frankel adding an 18-darter. Cygnet 'A's Jack White hit a maximum finish (170) but Cygnet 'B' took the honours through Kev O'Hara (15 and 21) and match-winner Ali Wray (bull finish).
Sun Inn defeated Ebor 6-3 with Jon O'Mara (18 and 18) and then went on to a clean sweep against Wenlock, which saw a 164-finish from Tony Cooper (two 15s). The two wins put them just one point behind Shepherd SC 'A' who recorded a narrow win at Huntington WMC.
Stu and Andy Morton both netted maximums as Acomb beat Crescent WMC 7-2.
Slipper eased their relegation worries with an 8-1 double pointer against Wenlock. Paul Partridge closed in 21 darts for Slipper.
The division two leaders had Andy Turpin out in 18 as Flag 'A' ran up a 7-2 win at Britannia, while Rose and Crown remain in second place after an 8-1 win at Independent.
