AFTER reading the readers letters of August 15, it appears nobody is taking any notice of what is written or said about the traffic problem in the York area.
If they were they would know by now the problem is, by design, part of a larger traffic plan.
The traffic lights in York are operated in such a way so as to cause a traffic problem if there is not one, to make it worse if there is one and, generally, just to cause disruption.
The reason for the problem on the Hull Road is to persuade you to use the Park and Ride at Grimston Bar.
What the council is trying to do is force you to leave your car at Grimston Bar Park & Ride, get on the bus to Marks & Spencer's then try to find the bus stop to get a bus to Heslington. After the first week you will realise you will now have priority at the B&Q traffic lights, can park your car at Grimston Bar, can ride into town on a bus only to have to find a stop and then ride on another bus to Heslington.
All this instead of driving the further mile to Heslington.
