I AM compiling a history of shops and providers in South Bank, York, from 1950 to the present day. So far I have got 86 premises and their occupants.
I am now struggling to gather information on six premises. Can anyone help me please? They are:
1 Balmoral Terrace: anything from 1975 to the mid Eighties.
61 Balmoral Terrace: anything throughout the Seventies.
145 Bishopthorpe Road: anything from 1970 to 1985.
85 Brunswick Street: I would like to get in touch with a Mr P Webster who was the landlord and had the building added onto 127 Albemarle Road back yard in the Eighties and started a business, I think, with his daughter as a travel agent. I have next to nothing at all about the premises.
4 Campleshon Road: anything from 1976 to 1985.
96 Queen Victoria Street: This used to be Jim's fish and chip shop but I don't know when they finished. After that a Chinese family took over. I don't know when they started and when they finished. They were the last occupants of that business. I should also appreciate any help on South Bank shops and can be contacted on (01904) 625163, or by email at kevgun@albeyork.freeserve.co.uk, or at the address below.
