POCKLINGTON RUFC enjoyed a highly satisfactory run out when they played their first practice match of the season against Goole at Percy Road.
Pocklington gave 26 players a go, and won two and drew one of the four half-hour periods, finishing with a cumulative score of 21-15 in their favour.
Pock's next warm-up is at Hornsea tomorrow when they will train first then have another series of match practice sessions. There is a bus provided from Percy Road (12.15pm).
Sam Clare, who played at Percy Road last season is Hornsea's player coach this term.
Pocklington will have a stern test when they travel to Driffield next Tuesday for their final practice match (6.30 pm).
About 40 youngsters enjoyed two days of rugby activities at Percy Road in East Yorkshire Council's Summer Scorcha summer school.
Pocklington's junior and mini rugby sections start on Sunday, August 28, with a training and registration morning for youngsters from the age of six upwards.
