LOVEABLE mascot Norris the Knight will not be allowed into tomorrow's big game on the orders of the Hunslet club's safety officer, writes Peter Martini.
A spokesman for the Hawks said they had nothing against Norris nor the Knights but, with Hunslet no longer having their own mascot, it was club policy not to allow visiting mascots onto the pitch-side in case it aggravated home fans.
Norris, who will now go to the game disguised as a normal human, told the Press: "I'm absolutely gutted.
"This is probably the biggest game I've had and they're not letting me go. The reasons they've given are pathetic and even their own fans who I've heard from are not happy about it.
"It's a family game. What they think I'm going to do I don't know. I'll still be there, of course, although I'll have to dress up as a normal fan in the stand."
